My dad looked at this '79 Formula tonight (for my brother). It's got a 403 (owner thought it was original but I knew it came with a 301), the body is rust free, it needs a new nose because this one is cracked (I have a good one...), the floors are a bit rusty but that's an easy repair, it needs a dash cap, the interior is a bit worse for wear (but again, I probably have everything you need), and it needs paint, there is a little wiring to do behind the dash (it's not that hard, I've done all of it before), and IMO it needs new rims (I have a few spare sets...). Drove well but being a 403 engine it had no power haha. The T-tops were damn solid and didn't rattle one bit. It has 100,000 miles on it. He was willing to let it go for $2500. This is an amazing price for what you're getting. My dad says it is in better shape than what I started with for my Trans Am.
VIN: 2U87W9N187512
Original color was Dark Charcoal with an accent two tone, and the interior is red.

I *so* wish my Firebird-craving younger brother had a place to put this. And it (and you) were slightly closer than Indiana. GAH

Dammit, you're supposed to buy it, and sell me the hood and interior bits.

Mine wants a classic but doesn't want a "project." He has yet to realize you can't get that qualification in his budget (he didn't save nearly as much as did for a car). You should go on a road trip... you can use my garage for a day or two to get it road worthy for the trip

But.... my floors are already (99%) done, and its a coupe. I like the coupe better. And it's a '77. And a Trans Am. And....

But this one runs... and drives... and looks like a car... and a '77 trans am is but a nose and hood swap away...
